Here it is Wednesday night already on my vacation! It’s going wonderfully, other than our first
night in Bryon City, NC! I shudder to
remember! It caused me nightmares. No joke.
The color is drab in some places, but very
pretty in other places. I’m sorry to
say that it hasn’t been one of the best years for color, but very nice, just
the same.
I’m doing pretty well on my very first low-carb vacation. I haven’t been perfect, and it’s hard to
judge how you’re doing when most meals are eaten in restaurants, full of sodium
and hidden carbs, and no scales to track weight. I worry that I will have gained weight. But…I’m not giving in to pancakes, fudge, and
other confectionaries, so there’s a little hope that I’m worrying for no
reason.
I’m not doing hikes…I’m in no shape to do much hiking, plus,
Deb scared me with her takes of Smoky Moutain hiking!
And…I saw pile of dung that I really wanted to shoot a picture of to
send to Deb’s hubby so he could analyze it!
I seriously cracked myself up thinking about doing it, but ultimately,
my second thought won out.
I think, if I’ve gained weight, I’m going to be a little
disappointed that I didn’t splurge. Is
that wrong? I’m not sure what I would
have splurged on…but I imagine it would be some type of unhealthy bread. I have no pictures ready to share
tonight.
I wonder if the color is drab because of the intense heat of the summer? Glad to hear you are doing well with your eating! Honestly, I wouldn't weigh myself for a few days after I got back home just in case you did gain weight (which it is hard to tell). Like I said before, if you get back on your healthy eating, the weight that you did put on, if you did, will come off pretty quickly. I think too this vacation will be how you judge other vacations in the future with what you decide to splurge on if anything.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile keep on enjoying your vacation!
betty
Too funny! :D You should've taken the picture of the SCAT. snicker. I told Bill what I wrote about him and the poop pictures. He thought it was very funy.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about you today and wonderng how you were. I totally understand the part about if you gain weight, you'll be disappointed that you didn't splurge! Makes no sense, but I'd feel the same way!!!!
And, you have your nerve about saing that I scared you about the hiking. hmph. After you sent me up Clingman's Dome with the words that it's a paved trail. Yes. A paved trail that goes straight up for half a mile and then I had to climb to the sky on a skywalk!
Too funny. Just this afternoon, my 5 year old granddaughter saw the Smoky Mtn pics for the first time. When she saw Bill and I sitting in the Dome, she pointed at me and said, "Why do you LOOK like that?" lol. I had to explain that I got sick climbing up the path to the dome. (At which point she started puffing out her cheeks and making gagging noises, then asked me if I had done that. chuckle.)
Have fun, girlfriend! Next year, Lord willing and if the creek don't rise, we'll be going down mid-May. Reservations are already made for Billy's Gatlinburg time share.
